Tuesday ‘TBR’ – Week 1 – The Angel’s Game

9 Mar

I love books and if you asked my husband, he’d probably go so far as to say that I am addicted to them.

My bookshelves are stuffed to bursting and are, sadly, full of books that I haven’t yet found the time to read.

As I want to get my enthusiasm back for actually reading books and not just buying them, I have decided to start a regular weekly post where I decide on a book to have its status elevated from ‘Bookcase’ to ‘TBR’.

For anyone who doesn’t know, TBR stands for ‘To Be Read’ and I always used to have a small(ish) pile of books waiting on the bedside table in my ‘To Be Read’ pile which I would work through steadily.

I’m hoping that, by posting my intentions here, I will have the impetus to pick the books up and start reading again, because I miss it.

The first book I’ve decided to put into ‘TBR’ is a book I was really excited about ordering and receiving but that I still haven’t started to read.

The book is The Angel’s Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon and I completely loved the first book I read of his which was The Shadow of the Wind.

I remember becoming totally absorbed in the world Zafon created in Shadow of the Wind and I felt like I knew the characters inside out.  I’m hoping that I’ll get similarly engrossed in Angel’s Game (although I read Shadow of the Wind in the B.A.* years) and that this will reignite my reading spark!

I promise to come back and tell you how I’m getting on, along with a review of the book once I’m finished.

I’d love it if others wanted to join in with my Tuesday ‘TBR’ so, if you would like to, please let me know in the comments below and I’ll try & work out how to sort a badge or something (wow, I’m useless at technology!), unless any kind soul has some advice for me on how that can be done…..

Is my pathetic, hopeful look working?!?

I think a TBR is a great idea. Go for it.
